This is Phoebe after a trip to the hospital. Modeling her arm purse!! Thats what they call them here!!

When the Dads went out shooting Anna and I made dolls houses with Phoebe and Cozette. Not bad for a few card board boxes, sticky tape and a tonne of spare bits from around the house. The girls loved it. Especially because it was girl time!!

So here we are 4 months on and I've finally got around to blogging again!! Actually the reason why I haven't is because my camera died and I think some nice visual images of our life go along way to making the blog look lovelly. However thanks to the birthday fairy that is Mum Guy I got a new camera!! So heres to lots more blogging!!

So to update you on our life so far. We found out 20 weeks ago that the next addition to our family is a BOY!! We are so giddy. We were pretty sure he was a boy because of all the kicking. But the ultra sound was super clear and there is no doubt a boy is on the way. Infact my due date is in 2 days time so you'll not have to wait long to see the little angel!!

We are loving life here in America. We finally feel settled and are part of everything that is going on. Stu is still Sunday School Pres and I've still got 2 callings. One as activity days leader and the other as a teacher in R/S. Although I'm on maternity leave from the latter. I get 3 months which is awsome. I've also got lots of friends to keep me happy and entertained! Photos a comin!!

So here it is. My new hair do. I thought It warranted blogging about since its 13 months since my hair saw a pair of scissors but sadly only a few weeks since it saw hair dye that ravaged my hair! What with the dry climate here and my english hair it was in desparate need of some tlc. So this is me after being sat in a chair for 4 hours!!!! Not kidding. Here in Provo they have a Paul Mitchell hair salon school where you can go get your hair done for 8 dollars. The dye is like 30 dollars. So I'm gonna be getting a new barnet every few weeks at those prices!! The only draw back is the time it takes. They are trainees afterall and while the haven't perfected their speed they are pretty good at cutting. But I figure thats 4 hours to read undesturbed except to ask about where I'm planning my holidays sorry vacations!! I'll take it anyday!!

The Belly Strikes Back!! November 2008

So here it is the newest addition to our family!! Well almost!! The baby started kicking in my 16th week which is a tad early I think. Its when Lucas started kicking me too. Phoeb's was a lazy baby and didn't bother to let me know she was there until I was 21 weeks!! I really thought she was dead!! So this makes me think I've got another Lucas coming. As if the world could handle 2 Lucas's!! But whatever is instore we are so excited for number 3!

So we wanted to carry on our very British tradition of having bonfire night. Mostly cos It's my fav night of the year! We had a great time. The kids got filthy and cold and loved every minute of it!!

Lucas was so proud to be Buzz. I'd been sewing his costume all week and each time part of it was done he wanted to try it on. His excitement was so cute. We think he actually became Buzz for a while with his flying off stuff!! My little Jesse!!
We got so much candy!!

Phoebe was so freaked out by Camerons wig and mustache she never quite recovered!! Hence why she isn't in the photo and is infact hiding in her pram!! Julie and Cameron were Sunny and a very pregnant Cher!

So this is Mark being Buzz Lightyear too. He played the part all night and made us all laugh!!Last weekend we went on a hay ride up in Layton with Chris, Anna and their kids. The hayride involved sitting on a long flat bed cart on hay bales and being pulled along by a tractor wich Lucas loved. We were then driven to the pumpkin patch where we all got to chose a pumpkin. Being English and wanting to get the most for our money we decided to get the biggest pupmkins possible. I lived to regret it when it came time to carve them!! Pumpkin carving strike 2 minus stu!!
The big one was about 2 inches thick!! I've got musles where I never thought possible!!

After going trick or treating around Kristens old neighborhood we went to their neighbors house for donuts! Yum!!

So here in utah halloween is huge and they start preparing for it like 3 months in advance. So even though we are 3 weeks early we are infact very late!!

So stu and I had been watching tv and stu decided to go in the back and get something. He came running back asking me to come see. This is what we saw. Somehow Lucas had sleep walked out of his bed down his ladder and down the hall way and into the washing basket to carry on his sleep. He must have been in there about and hour before we realised!! The funny thing is, is the basket is not huge!!
He awoke laughing at his funny joke and was chuckling as we put him back to bed!!

So this is one pic left over from the visit to the dino museum but I couldn't leave it out considering it took us ages digging the flippin thing out with tiny paint brushes!! Kay so we went to farm counrty after our dino day cos it was all in the same place. They gave us free pony ride tickets, at which point I thought Lucas will never do that and I'm pretty sure Phoebe would have a heart attack! Well I was right about Phoebe but Lucas was so brave!
That is until the pony winnied and then sneezed and he freaked!!!! So Kez the hero stepped in and held his hand all the way around dodging steamy pony poop as she went!!!
Happy in the end!!
Sometimes I wish I had a mini jail in my house just so I could get some peace!! A visit to farm country will have to suffice!!

So kez has a goal to see all the temples in the world before she dies and being the great relatives that we are we decided to help her in her goal by taking her to visit the provo temple. The kids loved it and they got to touch the temple! The kind man who we thought was gonna tell me off for letting my kids run around actually wanted to tell me to let the kids touch the temple and tell them how special it is. I appreciated his kindness!

Family days out here are something else!! The kids loved it. We ate our pic nic up here and got to see millions of grasshopper crickets as Lucas calls them!!

Stu commented on how the early prophets from the book of mormon and bible would go up into the mountains to pray. Its easy to see why. Its so peaceful and beautiful. Although I wouldn't have liked the idea before cabel cars were invented!!

Moving Cars! - September 2008

So lucas talked non stop for 2 weeks about how we were going on the moving cars. So this is the blog about our trip up the mountain on cabel cars.The views were spectacular!

We went for a short hike down a cycle track. Not the done thing in these parts!! The nazi operating the ski lift told us off. Alot!!

But it sure was beautiful!

So here are the peaches I canned. I actually did 14 cans but here are the ones that were cooling. I have another 30 odd jars to do today!! Slaving over a hot stove all day has its upside. Now I'll have peaches all through the winter!This is the steamer that makes the seals tight on the jars. I'd love to own one someday. We'll see what Father Christmas is bringing me!!

Kez came along for the ride. We've loved her visit. In 6 weeks she'll report to the mtc to start her mission at the Salt Lake Temple Square Mission. It'll be nice to have her so close.

I'm not kidding. Here in Utah if you wanna have a party for the whole ward you can just close down your street and borrow all the tables and chairs from church. Obviously no one minds cos they are all in the same ward. But really this could only be done in Utah!!

So while I was busy being mrs pioneer canning all my peaches the kids had fun outside with Evan and Holly.

Sundance September 2008

So our good friends Kristen and Mark took us up to Sundance on Saturday. It is so beautiful up there. I was in heaven. Its where in the winter lots of skiers and snow boarders go to. The slopes look gorgeous. In the summer however its like nature central!! Theres tonnes of huge evergreens, log cabins and its so green! It really reminded me of England in that respect. The ski lifts also work during the summer taking sight seers up the slopes just to look at the mountains. We are gonna do it in a couple of weeks when all the fall colours come out. The lake you see in the pic is full of trout. The kids were feeding them their rather expensive but yummy crisps!! My big dream is to have a log cabin somewhere like this. Maybe in about 40 years!!

Stu balded himself just before we left for Sundance. Now he looks like a thug again!!
So Robert Redford is a huge fan of this area and infact built most of sundance. Theres some restaurants and gift shops and stuff and its where they used to host the film festival before it got to big. He has a home in this area too. So if I could just bump into him.........!
This is deffinately a place we'd bring y'all!

Sick No More? Wed Sept 10th 2008

So today I woke up feeling surprisingly chipper! I didn't feel sick and it leaves me filled with hope that the dreaded morning sickness is finally over!! I even did my hair and wore make up for the first time in a week!! I'm actually looking forward to my tea too!!

Another reason to be perky is that it rained today. HALLELUJAH!! You friends in England probably want to shoot me about now and the ones here in Utah probably think I'm an ungrateful witch, actually you probably all do!!! But you just don't know how at home it feels to get soaked and hear a real rain hitting the pavement outside. Its awesome!! Its a while since I felt this happy. Sad but true!!

Why the fairy costume you may ask. Well these days Phoeb's and I fight over everything. She hasn't bathed for most of the week. Even though we tell her shes quite smelly she just refuses. Tonight during baths I found food in her hair and pen that has been there from goodness knows when!! So when she wants to wear a fairy dress all day its one of those battles that I let her win. I'll save the big one for when I need her to be clean!!
This is also the dress martyn and dawnie bought her for her 1st birthday. Its been a good run I'd say!!

And this is the reason why. We feed the ducks at least 3 times a week. Not enough time for my bread to get stale so these lucky ducks get the good stuff. You see at the moment I'm friendless most of the time. Boo hoo for me. I have had offers tho so dont feel to sorry for me. I just feel so rotten I really can't be bothered with trying hard at anything. So when I can be bothered to leave my house I take the kids here cos they love it and I secretly do to. Its beautiful!Phoebe is hiding behind lucas because these are some pretty amorous ducks!! Shame he's only an inch taller than her. Some protector!!

So what do you do when your suffering with morning sickness and you can barely drag your sorry butt off the floor cos there's no sofa? You let them entertain themselves with a roll of bin bags. I've never heard so much giggling. It sounded so cute I had to get up and snap it!!

This is the beautiful park near our appartment where the kids love to be.

The best thing about this place is that the kids can just run off and be pretty safe. It's quite quiet as there are loads of other parks so they dont get fullof people. Although we did take the kids on Saturday of Labour Day weekend and there were a fair few families having pic nics and bbq's.

So Lucas and Phoebe are the happiest kids ever. This week they got new bikes. We really like going for walks in the canyons but the kids hate the walking part so we figured bikes were a good solution. Lucas fell in love with one at walmart and would ride around the store whenever we went there. So we got one for him. Phoebe inherited Cozette's first bike. She loves it too. It is now covered in princess stickers!! This is where you can get onto the trail that goes through the canyon. Theres also a kids park here and we've brought our tea out here to eat beforew in the covered picnic area. So fun! The Mountain is Mt Timpanogus.

BYU Womens Football Game

We took the kids to see the game. We got the kids some game t shirts which they can wear again to other games. I wasn't that excited cos I remember a town match Rob and I attended when we were 'dating' (carol knows!!) It was the middle of november which really should have sent up a red flag but no I did not think of the bitter cold. I wore 2 coats and lots of clothes thinking It'd be fine I ended up freezing my nuts off for 90 minutes!! However this game was in the high 90's with pop corn and hotdogs. And them girls can shift. Stu was in perv heaven. Nothing better than good food, football and girls. Bonus when its the girls playing!! So it was a fab evening. I even asked stu if we could go again. His answer was a very obvious yes!!

On Saturday we went to south ogden to a kids water park. Its a bit like the smaller kids parks in england with a slide swing etc but instead of those its a park with water jets coming out of the ground with water cannons and big overhead buckets that dump tonnes of water on you. It was free to go and the kids loved it.

This is number 2 bathroom or the one that stays cleanish for visitors! Its usually the one the kids have time to reach when they need a pee!!

So any one of you's who comes to stay will have this bathroom for yourselves!

This is our onsuite. Having 2 bathrooms is so convieniant and stu and I no longer fight over the one toilet!!
My laundray cupboard. Always wanted these types of washer and dryer. They hold about twice what my other ones did.
Stu and I now share a wardrobe but since you can fit about 8 people standing in it I dont think we'll be fighting over it!! The kids also have a smaller one in each of their rooms.
So now I'm looking at all these pics and thought I probably should have tidied the appartent. But you allknow what a slob I can be so I'm not worried!!

This is our block. The top appartment that you can see is infact ours!!

We have a park just by our appartment but another huge one down the road with mountains and duck pond ultimate frisby bases. Only in Utah!!
These are the mountains that you can see from our appartment but depending on where you which ways you look you can see the whole range practically! The Black Ford Expedition is our new vehicle. It feels like I'm driving a tank and its about 3 foot taller than I am!

So this day was a long time coming! Stu finished his Bachelors with a 1st and his masters with a distinction. It should have been impossible what with raising a family, doing a house up, holding down a job and keeping a wife happy. We all think Stu is amazing!!

Monkies is a very apt word to describe my kids right now. The heat is great, however the down side is that my kids start stripping off! Phoebe is naked and shoeless most of the day even when enjoying a nice family trip to walmart. Its alittle annoying when your kids look like white trash because they look so neglected but when those same people judging you for your obvious lack of parenting savvy are infact white trash then it becomes a little hard to take!! But I'm secretly jealous of phoebes lack of clothing. Shes skippin around like a wee spring lamb without a care in the world. It makes me want to strip off to. However I dont think people would think I was as cute as phoebe!! 2 year olds get away with everything!!! They constantly have dirty feet because they refuse to wear shoes and are so hyped up most of the time cos they steal sips (gulps) of mummmys soda!! So most people look at them as tho they are wild amimals. To be fair they are not far off that mark!! No this is not a bad case of the chicken pox strikes back! (most people will remember my quarantine a few years back!!) Phoebe got hold of uncle Chris's red permanent marker! I scrubbed and scrubbed for 2 days but hey 4 days later and still there.
Lucas and Buddy are now the best of friends. So much so that Lucas wants to have his head shaved just like buddy!! I just cant let him. He's my little boy!!

Well life in Utah is great so far. Our appartment is starting to look more like a home. Still no sofa but that should change when the sale of the house goes through. Lucas asked where the living room was and I told him it was by the kitchen. He asked again "no mummy wheres the living room". So I said again its where the TV is. He said again "no mummy wheres the living room". So then I twigged and said do you mean the sofa and he said yes mummy. Guess we need to get on that pretty quick!

I took the kids to the water falls just by BYU so they could walk in the shallow part and throw stones. I told Phoebe to wait at one side so I could take Lucas over then I'd come back over to get her. I got about 3 steps in and heard a big splash behind me. Phoebe had jumped in feet first and soaked herself!!

The Horrors of House Hunting!!

So yesterday we awoke to a brand new day in America and decided that the first thing we needed to do was hot foot it to our new appartment and see how big it was so we could go choose new furniture to put into it. Excited doesn't describe how giddy I was even tho we had just stepped off a plane the night before, were jet lagged and totally sleep deprived. But you know when you just wannna get going and achieve lots in a day so off we went to provo from Layton. We arrived at our rather dubious looking destination and wondered wether we had stepped into beirut or rather arussian communist concrete monstrosity. Our appartment was in a quardangle with a lawn in the middle with a kids play area. Every balcony was jammed full of bikes and clothes and crap actually. So much for my rather nieve idea of opening out the patio doors every morning to let the kids play our dooors in the sunshine without actually having to be out dooors or having a romatic meal with my true love on the varanda of an evening. So the appartment. I figured it must be an improvement but oh no!! i walked in to a gloomy room that reminded me of a prison cell. No kidding! Painted breezblock walls, too high windows so you couln't see out and most of the bedrooms I could stretch my arms out and touch all the walls. So much for letting my kids share!! Don't get me started on the bathroom but it reminded me of Carols bathroom in york where there was a trail of pubes every morning form he bathroom to the living room carpet!! The kitchen was pre war. Which war you may ask parhaps 2 but I'd place bets on 1 and I'm pretty sure I'd be write!! It was a shocker to see such awful conditions but let me tell you that this place was worse than all the monstrosities that we saw when Carol and i went house hunting in lovelly huds! So that very same day we went appartment hunting and found a gorgeous one thats only 5 mins form campus. so glad and is only a tiny bit more that we were paying but plus utilities. But who cares I need my sanity right? Will keep y'all posted on our move. Love you all xxx

Many people have asked me why we're leaving Huddersfield and it's hard to explain really but maybe this will help... You just can't compare really!! When we drove the kids up into the mountains they kept asking to go build snow men!! They didn't realise you needed to hike for 2 days to get to the snow!!
But we will miss our friends

So I've decided that cos I'm so rubbish at writing a journal and staying in touch with my friends I'll keep a blog, Like killing 2 birds with one stone! Plus I"m determined to get on top of this whole tecnology thing. I know your all not expecting much but y'all just watch and see, your gonna be impressed!! Enjoy!!

Today we had a party for Lucas and Phoebe at Pats play group. Lucas worked his charm on all the old ladies that run the place with lots of goodbye hugs. I love it when your kids perform well!!
My house resembles a ware house now. Boxes every where. It means we dont feel settled any more. Just need to get going now.
I couldn't sleep last night for thinking about my little nieces. They gonna be so big by the time we see them again.
Was thinking about My brother Martyn too. He's always been there in my life. Even when we were both away on missions we were doing it together so it felt like he was just around the corner.
Once I learn how to get pics on I'll upload them most promptly. Sweet lovin!! xx
